In the winter of 2015-2016, a group of friends and confederates of the musical order, gathered to raise a holy ruckus. Huddled together in musical communion in the belly of Orchard Street Studios, committed to the idea of single take performances, a record was born and so was a band: The Blue Heart Revue. Band members Debra Fotheringham, Ryan Tanner, Marcus Bently, Paul Jacobsen, Dylan Schorer, Mark Smith, and Brian Thurber take on Americana classics to revere and reinvent the works of legends like Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Jeff Tweedy, and Lucinda Williams, to name just a few. Led by Debra's clear and soaring voice, The Blue Heart Revue is at times dark and brooding, other times irreverent and rollicking, but always searching for what's true and resonant in American folk songs.
